2013-2014 MPS-MCJ On-Campus Degree Program Course Listings (DPCL)
The dual degree program is designed to prepare students for careers in pastoral ministry such as chaplaincy positions within prisons, detention centers, police departments, and other criminal justice institutional structures. It also provides preparation for careers in the criminal justice system, with special knowledge and skills in promoting rehabilitation and community reintegration, and serving as a liaison between justice institutions and religious organizations and chaplains.Students in this program must be admitted to both the Department of Criminal Justice, and the Institute for Ministry.
Tuition is charged based on the program conducting the course. For example, the LIM rate applies to MPS courses and the Department of Criminal Justice rate applies to MCJ courses. Current tuition and fee schedules are available through the Office of Student Finance.
The total number of credit hours for the dual degree is 55 credits of graduate work. If students take each program separately, the required number of hours would be 67 credits. Pursuing the dual degree provides the student with the reduction of 11 credits. All courses are 3 credit hours.
